I have been looking into free advertising for my book Wiggiebead in South Africa and this took me a couple of days to come up with these free advertisers, I would rather advertise for free than to use my cash. At this stage my book is small and produce little sales “not enough to spend on advertising”. I hope this information will be helpful for all those handmade or homemade crafters in South Africa. Not only can you get your homemade business out there for all the visitors of that site to see, but if you have a website, you automatically build links for it and links are good.
You would not always need a website, but an email address to communicate and this can be easily and freely created through Google’s Gmail.
Here is what I found:

This was the easiest for me, I emailed them, they responded back and asked me if I had could send a short description of my homemade business with contact details, web address or email address, which I did and in 24 hours I was up, I was so impressed with their service that I decided that I’ll use the full advert and later even requested a subdomain from them which they designed and set up for a very fair price complete with Google listing and 20 other search engines, a blog site, Facebook listing and more .
For those who does not know the meaning of a subdomain. This is like your own website, but you just carry the name of the main domain with your website name for example www.YourWebsiteName.TheirWebsiteName.com
in this case of mine it will be www.wiggiebead.snazibuy.com .

You can ad your free homemade or handmade business listing with Yalwa directory,
you may use them for describing your products and/or services, add your phone and fax numbers, a link to your website, etc.
You’ll have to confirm your email address, when you have done that the listing will be reviewed by their support team and it will be activated for everyone to see on the Yalwa Directory site. Yalwa will inform you when your listing is activated.

I Lead Online is an online information website that advertise for hobbies “after all my book is hobby related, I filled in their online form and submitted it to them, received an email back saying that my advert will be up and running in 48 hours, but I found a lot of promotional websites related advertising. I give them a try to see what my free advert will do, till now it generated 4 sales.
If you have your own website it is always good to advertise with all those other free advertising companies like www.wozaonline.co.za, www.olx.co.za, www.howzit.co.za www.internetads.co.za, www.freelocalclassifiedads.co.za and more. This can land you a link to your website, although some of them require you to know HTML (the language to make a website) or to paste a certain code into your website, but I just notify snazibuy and they do it for me.
Quality Links to your site can improve your overall PR rating with Google (this means Page Ranking). Links and other WEB CEO (search engine optimization) work determines where your website display on a search engine, for example: if you search afrikaans jewelry magazine on the internet you’ll find wiggiebead first, but it’s always good to narrow down the category in which you are advertising “in my case Homemade or Handmade jewelry”.
